Part of the ransomware family, GandCrab managed to spread to thousands of computers in a relatively short time period after making its first appearance, most probably due to the infection vectors it uses: ads and email messages.
After encrypting files on your computer, GandCrab asks for the ransom money in Dash, a crypto-currency that has started being used by cybercriminals recently. Thanks to Bitdefender, there is an alternative to paying the hundreds or thousands of dollars requested in exchange for the decryption key, namely the Bitdefender GandCrab Decryptor.
