Google Nest Audio is the new successor to Google Home

In addition to its new Pixel smartphones and the new Chromecast with Google TV, Google has announced a new connected speaker: Google Nest Audio which is actually taken from Google Home.

New features for Google Nest Audio, it has a height of 174 mm and a width of 124 mm; 78 mm thick, weighs 1.2 kg. The speaker, powered by a 1.8 GHz Quad-Core A53 chip, is compatible with Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n / ac, on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequency bands. It also supports Bluetooth 5.

Comparing it with these predecessors, Google insists on a considerable gain in terms of bass. As for the speakers, Google Nest Audio benefits from a 75 mm woofer and a 19 mm tweeter.

The new speaker can obviously also connect with the Google Assistant, which will activate the functions and interact with music streaming services on the Internet.

Google Nest Audio also incorporates Chromecast Audio technology, which lets you transfer music from a smartphone or other Nest speaker. Also, thanks to the Google Assistant, Nest Audio can control the various connected devices in the house.

Google further specifies that with a Nest Aware subscription, the speaker is able to detect unusual sounds in your home while youre away and notify you by sending an alert message to your smartphone.

The Google Nest Audio speaker is available for pre-order for $99. Two colors are possible: gray and black. The device will be delivered starting October 5.
