Bitdefender arrives a bit late on the VPN market, but wants to impose itself with a very low price offer and access to the American version of the famous SVoD service.
The Romanian publisher has just launched two new services in quick succession. The first is Premium VPN, a virtual private consumer network that is based on the Hotspot Shield infrastructure and its own Catapult Hydra protocol. The latter would have the advantage of being 25% faster than OpenVPN technology.
In order to assert itself in an already very competitive market, Bitdefender relies mainly on a low price, namely $ 5.99 per month or $ 49.99 per year. Which is about 40% cheaper than most competition. In addition, Bitdefender promises that its offer is compatible with Netflix USA.
The second offer is a mobile application called Yonly, which is a DNS service encrypted with TLS, coupled with a URL filtering layer to remove links that lead to dangerous sites. The encrypted DNS function is completely free and ensures the confidentiality of this browsing data. URL filtering is free until January 15, 2021, and then will cost around $ 3.99 per month.
