Zemana AntiMalware is a security software designed to detect and remove malware, trojans, rootkits, and other malicious threats from a user's computer system.
1. Second Opinion Scanner: Zemana AntiMalware is often used as a "second opinion" scanner. This means that even if you have another antivirus or antimalware software installed, you can run Zemana to catch any threats that might have been missed.
2. Lightweight: The software is designed to be lightweight, ensuring that it does not slow down the computer while scanning.
3. Cloud-Based: Zemana uses a cloud-based system to check suspicious files against multiple antivirus engines, which helps improve the rate of detection.
4. Real-time Protection: Apart from the on-demand scanning, the premium version of the software offers real-time protection, which means it can actively block threats as they appear.
5, Adware Removal: Zemana is also known for effectively detecting and removing unwanted adware, which many traditional antivirus solutions might overlook.
6. Compatibility: It's designed to be compatible with other security software, so users can run it alongside their primary antivirus or antimalware solutions without conflicts.
7. Ransomware Protection: Zemana has features that help protect users from ransomware attacks, ensuring that personal files aren't encrypted by malicious actors.
Like with any software, especially security software, it's a good practice to regularly check for updates and reviews to ensure you are using the best product for your needs. It's also important to remember that no security solution offers 100% protection, so always follow best practices for online safety.
Zemana is effective as anti-malware software. Its focused detection and blocking of zero-day threats works well, so if you’re looking for basic coverage or supplemental protection, it’s a great choice.
It’s clear that Zemana’s focus is on being an anti-malware tool rather than a comprehensive security package, which is fine.
I had the mail.ru virus. Superantispyware did not detec it but Malwarebytes did detect it and “removed” it ..but every time I did a right click over a link there was the “search with mail.ru” option instead of “search with google”. According to Malwarebytes & superantispyware my pc was free of any kind of malware etc… well Zemana found 11 including the mail.ru virus.
You must keep in mind that Zemana AntiMalware is a second opinion solution and it’s not conceived to replace a real-time firewall or anti-virus on your PC. It adds an extra scanning layer to help you remove malware, antivirus and malicious code at a cheap. Zemana will not conflict with your security suite, it’s quick, lightweight and reliable.
I provide IT support for over 250 clients in my home area. Recently, I encountered a stubborn piece of programming called “web-start.org.” A client accidentally downloaded a tainted package that came with it. Malwarebytes nor Emsisoft could kill it. Thanks to bleepingcomputer.com and their suggestion, I downloaded Zemana, ran it, and it found and wiped out the culprit. Zemana is now a part of my arsenal. GREAT product!!
